Advent comes to FBC

Other than Easter (of course), the Advent season and Christmas offers the most meaningful time for the church to gather as a family of faith.

During this time, the church has several meaningful, special occasions to sing, enjoy music, and grow closer together as a church family. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and those who new to the community to visit with us.

Advent is the four week period of spiritual preparation leading up to Christmas. The four Sundays prior to Christmas eve, our church will light a candle during the worship service. The candles represent the themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. The final candle, the white one in the middle, is the Christ candle. It is lighted on Christmas Eve and culminates the season of searching and remembering the birth of the Christ child.

Let me draw attention to a few special occasions to gather for worship:

Dec 10: FBC Kids sing ‘Carols and Cocoa” fellowship
Dec 21: Adult Choir and Orchestra Christmas Program
Dec 24: Christmas Eve Service

You’ll hear more about this on our social media platforms, but please make sure to take advantage of these additional worship and fellowship opportunities.

Christ the Savior is Born!–DC
